Hunting Yellowfin Tuna with Harbor House Life

Birds crashing into the water, current flowing, big marks on the depth finder, the scene was set. The Harbor House Life team was on the mark for spearfishing yellowfin tuna. It was my first experience with tuna and wow are they a sight to be seen, they are so fast and elegant cutting through the water around us. When hunting for tuna, the first indicator  they are there  is bait fish disappearing. The sardines go dark, like a light switch is being flicked off one by one, tuna darting in and out picking off bait at will. At times we had what seemed like swarms of bees buzzing around us in attack mode. Such an amazing experience, getting to be among one of the most fierce predators in the ocean. We were fortunate to land 5 tuna on our 3 day trip with great patience and  guidance from Punta Mita Expeditions,   Check out the photos!
