Hurricane Sandy's Destruction

I spent last week at the Jersey Shore with my family for Thanksgiving, it was quite a sight to see all the trash from damaged houses in the area lining the streets.  It is estimated that New Jersey's overall damage will total $30 billion.  I was able to get over to the barrier island and spend some time at Seaside Heights, home to that stupid tv show, Jersey Shore.  My heart goes out to all the families that lost so much, it seems the bay side got the worst of it with houses completely torn from their foundations and massive flooding.  The whole barrier island was underwater at one point with sand covering all the streets when the water subsided. The Barnegat Bay is littered with refrigerators and other large debris.  As far as the boardwalk I have visited for 27 years, there are plans to start rebuilding in January, the destruction is unbelievable and the memories so many have of the Seaside Boardwalk will forever be cherished.  I was able to sneak by the cops and get a few shots at Casino Pier and Funtown Pier, take a look.
