Bahamas with Fin Forward

With sharks being one of my favorite subjects, I was excited to join Brandon Bethea of Fin Forward in early April for a trip to Nassau in the Bahamas. Local operator Stuart Cove

) visits several world-renowned and well-photographed dive sites, and I was anxious to capture the sharks and Fin Forward's cause in a new light (my own way).

Fin Forward

) believes in the power of bucket lists and organizes life-changing shark dives and outdoor adventures for cancer survivors. Brandon got the idea for Fin Forward after losing his mom to cancer and cage diving himself with great whites in Australia. They are basically like the Make-A-Wish of the marine world, and we were excited to experience this shark-diving mecca together.

In addition to the shark dives with Stuart Cove's dive shop, we also joined Bahamas Divers

) for some dives.

Brandon is an aspiring photographer and recently won a $2,500 lens package from Sigma Photo (link -

). I used his 15mm fisheye for all of the underwater pictures and footage.

"Photography is paramount to all we do at Fin Forward. The underwater world provides a powerful setting for sharing an experience with a survivor or showcasing partners' products, and it is amazing to see that energy translated through the lens of a professional photographer like Mike Raabe."
