Rings
Last week I had some time to kill, so I gave myself an assignment to photograph 10 strangers out on Venice Beach. I asked my friend, Don Crossland, to come along and help with lighting. We started at the Santa Monica pier , deciding to get lunch there and then walk down to Venice. Good thing we did, because the best part of this self imposed assignment was waiting for me just south of the pier, at a ring station in the sand. Don and I witnessed guys swing, spinning, and jumping off the rings like they were performing for Cirque du Soleil or training for The Olympics. Seizing the opportunity I quickly went over and asked if I could photograph them doing their thing. They obliged, and here is what we got.
Thank you Parker and Frank for the great shots!
I eventually made it down to Venice and got to take this portrait as well!
